Special Music at Joint Church Service January 8

Star – a Divine Process” is a Christmas Cantata by Canadian composer Rick Gunn. Innerkip-Eastwood United Choir will be presenting this engaging new work with Dan VanWinden, with Janet Robb on the piano, and drums and guitars. Rick Gunn draws upon a variety of musical sources from pop to jazz to classical for a heart-warming musical offering that presents the stories and symbols of Jesus’ birth, as an invitation for us all to experience the richness of God’s love and to fully live.
Sunday, January 8, 11:00 at Innerkip United Church. Come and enjoy.

New! AED has been installed at Innerkip United!

On November 21 a group received AED training and the ZOLL-PLUS AED was installed in the Church hall on the wall between the church office and kitchen.

The AED was purchased through a memorial donation to the memory of Brock and Brent Chesney.

Although it is an important treatment device where someone has had a heart attack; the AED needs people to react to the situation , call 911, commence CPR and rescue breathing, connect the AED to the patient and treat until emergency services arrive. The time between the heart attack and when the Emergency Services can start treatment is critical for survival!

chain-of-survival

We hope to arrange a time for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR training in 2017.

From Google:

What does it mean AED?
Q: What does AED stand for?
A: Automated external defibrillator.
Q: What is an AED?
A: An AED is a sophisticated, reliable, safe, computerised device that delivers electric shocks to a casualty in cardiac arrest when the ECG rhythm is one that is likely to respond to a shock.

Q:What heart rhythm does an AED shock?
An AED will automatically analyse the heart rhythm of a pulse less victim and, if the victim is in ventricular fibrillation (VF) or ventricular tachycardia (VT), shock the victim’s heart in an attempt to restore its rhythm to normal. AEDs will not shock patients who do not require a shock.

Syrian Family Open House

The family hosted an Open House at St. David’s United Church on October 2. The family was sponsored by a committee supported by donations and support from local United Churches including Eastwood and Innerkip.

Alex’s Hair Donation

Alex Osborne Cancer Fundraiser page.

Hello All,

alex-hair
Alex’s Hair to be donated for wig

Alex is getting his hair cut on October 14th and sending it away to support making wigs for Cancer. He is very excited about this and would love to have people support his efforts with donations. We have set up a donation page on the Cancer website and have sent the link here.
We are hoping that we can share this opportunity with our church family! Alex decided to do this all on his own and I am very proud of him for it. Hoping we can support this cause which is very close to our family as you know.
Thanks,
Christi and Alex
