WONDERCAMP 2017 ENDED A MERE 3 WEEKS AGO. THE LAUGHTER, THE NOISE, THE SONGS AND GAMES ARE NOW JUST A HAPPY MEMORY. CLOSE TO 200 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN CAMP ACTIVITIES THIS PAST SUMMER, COMING FROM 60 FAMILIES. OUR STAFF OF YOUTH, TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS BONDED AND WORKED AS A TEAM THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER, ACTING AS WONDERFUL ROLE MODELS FOR THE CAMPERS. MOST HAVE AGREED TO RETURN NEXT SUMMER TO CONTINUE THE WORK OF BRINGING LIFE AND JOY TO OUR COMMUNITY AND BEYOND. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THE LEADERSHIP OF KATIE ANDERSON AND DAN VANWINDEN. IT WAS AWESOME TO WITNESS THEIR TEAMWORK.

IF I HAD TO DESCRIBE WONDERCAMP IN A SINGLE PHRASE, I WOULD SAY
“WONDERCAMP IS A PLACE OF BELONGING AND INCLUSION”.

THE WONDERCAMP STAFF AND I ARE SO GRATEFUL TO THE INNERKIP UNITED CHURCH COMMUNITY FOR THEIR WILLINGNESS TO PROVIDE THE SPACE FOR THIS MUCH NEEDED PROGRAM. I AM SURE THAT FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN, IT APPEARED CHAOTIC AND MESSY AT TIMES AND ALWAYS NOISY! A CLOSER LOOK REVEALED EXCITEMENT, JOY AND ENTHUSIASM ON THE PART OF EVERYONE INVOLVED.  A PLACE WHERE EVERY CHILD WAS GREETED WITH A SMILE AND FRIENDSHIP ON A DAILY BASIS, WHERE THE LEADERS WORKED TOGETHER, MADE FOREVER FRIENDS, AND WHERE I FELT SUPPORTED, VALUED AND INCLUDED.

THANK YOU INNERKIP UNITED CHURCH!!
